About The Cyber Foundation
The Cyber Foundation is the first nonprofit dedicated exclusively to building cybersecurity standards, education, and advisory services purpose-built for family offices. Founded in 2025, the organization provides vendor-agnostic guidance, peer learning communities, and the first cybersecurity framework designed exclusively for family offices. The Cyber Foundation operates as a fiscally sponsored project of Digital Harbor Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, meaning all contributions are tax-deductible and the organization operates under Digital Harbor's tax-exempt status.
Mission
"The Cyber Foundation solves cybersecurity challenges family offices face by providing what the Information Technology industry hasn't: purpose-built standards, practical guidance, an ecosystem of experts, and advisory partnerships that actually work for teams protecting significant assets."
The Problem We Solve
No Standards Exist
There are no cybersecurity frameworks built specifically for family offices. Enterprise standards are too complex and don't account for the unique risks family offices face.
Navigating in Isolation
Family offices value discretion, which often means security teams of one or two people operating without peers, benchmarks, or trusted communities.
Executive Knowledge Gap
Principals and executives need to make critical technology decisions but lack accessible education bridging technical security and executive decision-making.
Vendor Conflicts
Most cybersecurity guidance comes from vendors with products to sell. Family offices need vendor-agnostic advisors who represent the owner's interests.
What We Do
The Cyber Foundation operates across four pillars, each designed to address a specific gap in the family office cybersecurity landscape.
1. Standards & Frameworks
Purpose-built cybersecurity standards for family offices. Our TCF Framework provides a cyclical, risk-oriented approach: Aware, Orient, Analyze, Adopt, Feedback.
2. Education & Insights
Multi-faceted cybersecurity education for both technical teams and non-technical executives. Our Insights Series brings together family office leaders and security experts.
3. Ecosystem & Facilitation
Connecting family office leaders with vetted cybersecurity providers and facilitating peer-to-peer learning to break out of isolation.
4. Advisory & Owner's Rep
Vendor-agnostic advisory partnerships through our Owner's Representative Program, representing the family office's interests, not a vendor's sales agenda.
