Is The Cyber Foundation a non-profit?
The Cyber Foundation currently operates as a fiscally sponsored project of the Digital Harbor Foundation. As a fiscally sponsored project, we adhere to the non-profit model of our parent organization including compliance and tax-exempt status for donations. You can support our work with tax-deductible contributions.
Why a non-profit? Why not just another cybersecurity firm?
We’ve spent our careers working in family offices and have experienced firsthand how vendor-driven agendas and conflicting guidance leave family offices without the independent support they need. A non-profit structure allows us to do this work differently, setting standards, advancing education, and providing truly independent guidance.
What makes you different than IT or cybersecurity consultants?
The Cyber Foundation works to evolve family office cybersecurity across multiple capacities including standards development, advisory partnerships, education, vetting vendors and service providers, and other strategic initiatives. We are agnostic partners, working to have industry-wide impact.
Do you provide services?
We partner with family offices to provide advisory services as cybersecurity Owner’s Representatives. We are here to understand your needs and represent your interests. As such, we are platform, vendor, and service agnostic, providing guidance, identifying gaps in service and knowledge, developing a vision for your organization, and connecting you with the right partners.
How is The Cyber Foundation funded?
We have a number of funding sources. As a fiscally-sponsored project of the Digital Harbor Foundation, we are able to receive contributions from donor advised funds, bequests, and tax-deductible private party donations. Additionally, our projects and initiatives may be sponsored by trusted partners who share our mission.
